Police officers, fire fighters, paramedics, and other first responders experience trauma beyond the scope of most human experience. The First Responder Support Network (FRSN) was created for emergency responders whose lives have been impacted by their work experience.
FRSN is a non-profit organization with an experienced all-volunteer clinical and peer staff specifically trained in trauma recovery. It is one of only two residential treatment facilities of its kind in the world. For more information: www.wcpr2001.org.
Our goal is to help emergency service professionals and retirees regain control over their lives and either return to work with a new perspective on stress and coping, or move on with their lives if that is a more appropriate decision.
The WCPR residential program provides an educational experience and treatment designed to help current and retired first responders recognize the signs and symptoms of work-related stress, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The SOS program is for Significant Others and Spouses.
As the wife of a retired police officer, I have a special place in my heart for emergency responders. Family members of emergency responders often deal with vicarious stress and trauma. I co-developed and lead a parallel program for spouses and partners of emergency responders. Approximately twice a year I volunteer my services for a week at WCPR www.wcpr2001.org
If your loved one is suffering from the effects of stress or trauma, and it is affecting you, you may be eligible to participate in our SOS program at no cost to you. If you would like more information about WCPR please contact me.

FRSN’s mission is to provide a safe and confidential environment for the promotion of healing and education to those dedicated to the emergency service profession, and their families.
